Oh, I really loved your take on that scene, Saul! I haven't watched the show, but that is classic friend behaviour. I'm very thankful to have a stalwart group of "chosen family" of men and women in my life, and this is exactly how we talk to each other. You nailed.
Also the “I think you’re my person” scene in the finale really got me. I can’t believe they wrote that scene without knowing it would be the end of the show, it just nailed the whole sentiment so well for me.
The "I think you're my person" scene is beautiful. I had written a whole additional section about it for my piece, and had to cut it because otherwise it would have run, like, 7,000 words.

Thank you, Sheila! I think you'd love this show. It's so much about the idea of chosen family and building a life around the people you embrace.
Love your take on this! I had some different “favorite friendship” scenes and it was wonderful hearing what stood out to you.
Thank you so much, Erin! What was your favorite scene?
I loved when Sam wrote the song for Joel at the end of season one. It feels so rare that we see friends explicitly and creatively express their affection for each other. I wrote about it a tiny bit in my latest post: https://open.substack.com/pub/forevers/p/this-month-in-friendship-january-2025

I would love to read it!!
